11 DAYS!

that's right, 11...11. that is how many days are left until i get to marry my bestest friend!!! ah! we seriously are SO excited to be sealed for ALL eternity. In one week we will road trip it from utah to dallas for this WONDERFUL event. we are sooo so so thankful for all that are planning on attending. we are blessed to have such amazing family and friends.

Matthew recently attended several interviews for different jobs. anddd we are proud to announce that he is now a working CNA! 3 months after taking the course he was able to find a job in the field. Today is is first day, but should just be doing paper work. He is very nervous to be working two jobs, 50+ hours a week (eek!) but we are very blessed to have the income! we are learning quickly that saving is important when starting a family together! please keep matthew (and me!)  in your prayers as he adapts to this new opportunity of his!

I am seriously SO blessed. Thank you Greg for setting us up:) i cannot cannot cannot imagine my life without this incredibly loving man in my life. He is the greatest example to me, and treats me like a QUEEN! i love it, and know he is the only one i could ever imagine spending the rest of my life with. I love him more than words can describe!

in 11 days, i will be the new haley jean marstella ERICKSON! :) soo excited. this may be the last post until we get back from dallas, things are getting pretty crazy with the wedding SO soon!! ah yay!

also, after my car died (sigh) we decided after we sold it, we would use the money we got for it on a new car. SO guess what! WE GOT A NEW CAR! the only input i had was that it was a white one. haha, i know it sounds silly, but for some reason i've always wanted a white car, and now i have one! :D  it is a white mazda 3 :) our new baby. we have named her mazda mae. :) and we love her VERY much! pretty, huh?!

well that is all! next post will be of the wedding!!! :D AHHH.

when God closes a door, he opens a window

It's me again :) Matt's not too much of a blogger :P

I am feeling SO blessed right now. and this is why: 

 (the following are in no certain order. just the order they came into my head:) )

I have an amazing fiance.

I just got a promotion, and LOVE it.

I was able to sell my apartment contract. Matt is now staying at his grandma's (right down the road from our new place) and I am living in our new apartment. which means, ONLY ONE RENT to pay! instead of the two we were doing. wayyy lucky! again, i am BLESSED!

Our new place is PERFECT. I cannot wait to share this home with Matthew.

I have an AMAZING mother. seriously. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. she is the best example in the WORLD to me. She is seriously a wonder-woman. MY wonder-woman. maybe one day she will tell me her secret. I'm so glad i get to be with her for eternity. Thanks mom for always being there for me, i hope one day i can be as great as a mother as you!

 The family that I am marrying into is... INCREDIBLE. They are SO loving, and make me feel so loved. Ah, I love you guys!

 (and of course i am going to have the best mother in law EVER!! Love you Mama Cindy!)

 I get to live less than 10 minutes away from my sister! Who is expecting  a BOY in FEBRUARY!!! i am going to be an AUNT! :)

 I have an amazing brother who is serving a mission in the Dominican Republic right now! I'm very sad he won't be able to be at my wedding, but I know he is doing wonderful things for the people there! ah, i love him and miss him dearly!

 My family in general. I am so blessed to have such amazing family members. Seriously. I couldn't do anything without them. So glad i get to spend eternity with you all <3

As you all can tell, I'm one LUCKY girl. I really have a perfectly wonderful life. 

When times get hard, like when my car decides to need $2,000 worth of repairs last week, I have to remember everything happens for a reason. and God won't give me anything i cannot handle.

                  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is    faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape that ye may be able to bear it.

SO, after my car betrays me, matt and i decide it's time for me to learn how to drive manual so i can share matt's car. So far, so good! it's hard, but so is life. and i totally dominate at life sometimes :) so i'm going to dominate this stick shift.... one day haha. I'm so thankful to have a willing fiance, who drives me everywhere now, and who is letting me learn to drive his car. Love him oh so much.

Anyways, long post today. Lots to be thankful for. :)

OUR NEW HOME!

So, Matt and I have found our first place we will live in together!!! and we couldn't be happier. Our new place is an apartment in a fourplex in Orem, Utah. We looked at about 5 other places before we came to this one, as soon as we met the landlords and they walked us through, we knew this is what we wanted! so we signed the application and signed the contract! We are SO excited! Here are some pictures, it's a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom :) we LOVE it. Here is our NEW home, 311 east 1600 south orem, utah 84058!

 

44 days til we are married for time and all eternity in the Dallas, Temple!

best.night.EVER!

so, for my birthday, my wonderfully amazing mother was able to get me 2 tickets to the one and only TAYLOR SWIFT concert in salt lake.Matthew and i went! matthew had never been to a concert before! :O and now he can saw he has been to one, taylor's! what guy wouldn't want to say that!? baha. i love him. he was almost as excited as i was actually! we both are fans, well i am a fan... which automatically makes him one, right? :) we both wore our cowboy boots which was a lot of fun. just overall a wonderful night! here are some pics:

she was amazing! and we had a blast. definitely going to her concert again in the future. love her. and i couldn't have chosen a better person to share this night with! :)

i love this daughter of god.

yesterday i came home to find this wonderfully made, beautiful blog. as i looked over, observed the design and read through the paragraphs i could not control the immense feeling of love swelling in my heart. i have come to find that my love for her will only continue to grow for all eternity, never ceasing. she continually surprises me in numberless ways throughout the many days we are together.

in (now than less) two months i will be sealed to my wife, partner and best friend for all time and ETERNITY. for those that do not know or understand this principle of the restored gospel taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we have the knowledge of the sealing powers that have been restored through the priesthood powers. we are taught by Christ: "I say unto you, that whatsoever you seal on earth shall be sealed in heaven; and whatsoever you bind on earth, in my name and by my word, saith the Lord, it shall be eternally bound in the heavens;" (D&C 132:46) i am grateful that i will be able to partake of this blessing and that i know our love for each other will not end when we die.

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18)

in a world that is straying further and further away from the concept of family and more importantly marriage; to be sealed to one person for not only our time here on earth, but for all eternity thereafter, requires much love. and as taught by john, this love needs to be free of all fears and is a perfect love. such an example can easily be found before you. everyday our love grows stronger. no fear can be found in the smooth, impenetrable surface of our perfect love for each other. this has come to be from the experiences we have had in getting to know each other in the past two years.

in getting to know and understand each other, we quickly found many commons between us. we knew what we stood for, and who we represented. we knew what our ultimate goals and destinations throughout life and thereafter are to be. we knew we wanted a strong family centered on the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. and most importantly: not only did we know what we wanted in all of this, but we knew what events we did not want to happen as well. in the end, you can say we were perfect for each other. from there we had endless opportunities to continue to grow our love for and to better understand each other. many people would like to say that we don't belong together for many different reasons. but by enduring through their criticisms, we have learned that no matter how hard the situations may be, or no matter what people think, in the end we know the truth and we love each other. our love in unconditional, it requires no help from other people to make it work, or to help it grow. and we know that as long as we have each other and center our love on the Savior, then we can endure everything that this world may through at us. this is our love. this is haley and matthew erickson.

i love this man.

 oh. my. did i mention that i love love LOVE this man? he is everything to me. he really and truly completes me. he is patient, loving, caring, romantic, affectionate, handsome, endearing and everything else. I am seriously THE luckiest girl in the entire world. I could not be happier right now, life is AMAZING. I cannot put into words how excited I am to spend the rest of my life, and eternity, with this wonderful man. 

 Matthew proposed to me June 17, 2011 while i was visiting him in California. I was not expecting to come home with a ring on my finger at ALL. it was a COMPLETE surprise!!(one of the best, might i add). We drove up about 3ish hours north to Pismo Beach. a BEAUTIFUL drive might i add. We parked, and started walking on the beach. We both needed to use the bathroom, and in the process we discovered a festival/car show that was going on right down the street. We walked around, gawking at the crazy expensive cars. There wasn't one there that matthew didn't want to take home! After walking around there for a bit, we decided to grab our beach chairs and cooler and sweaters. A little while later, it was time for our picnic dinner matthew had packed for us. Still, i had NO idea what was going on.our dinner was LOVELY: turkey roll-ups, fruit, sparkling cider, and REESES. he knows the way to my heart ;)

 It was the most perfect day ever. After we were finished eating, we cuddled a little, then the sun started to set. SO romantic. Then matthew tells me he has a surprise for me, and to close my eyes. So i try my hardest not to peak... he puts this in my lap

A SCRAPBOOK! a beautiful AMAZING gorgeous scrapbook! for ME! :) if you couldn't tell, I LOVE SCRAPBOOKS! this one is the first i've been given, i'm usually the one doing the giving of them. I was SO excited. it was the best scrap book EVER:) throughout the book, he put the lyrics to "Two is Better Than One" by Boys Like Girls (one of our favorites). halfway through the book there was a beautiful poem, which after reading, i knew what was about to happen and started bawling! I knew this was the day i would remember forever. On the last page was this:

Pictures of the Dallas Temple and stickers of a bride and groom! SO adorable. and on the opposite side it had a bunch of different ways of him asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. Little to my knowledge he had already called my mom AND my dad!! i had NO idea. Then, he got on one knee and asked me to marry him!!! and gave me the most beautiful ring in the WORLD. no joke.

Everyday my love for him grows! it's crazy. i never have felt this way about anyone in my life. i truly believe he is my soul mate, he makes me SO happy.

I am head over heels for this boy. he is the world to me. Matthew,  I cannot wait to spend eternity with you. to have a family together, and to take on the world together. I love you oh so much.
