11.9.14 || Deer Creek Reservoir

Before Matt left for basic training, we were in the routine of taking Sunday drives to a scenic location where we would take a few self-timered photos with our lovely Nikon. Well, we are back at it! Today we drove over to the Deer Creek Reservoir. We were just in time to watch the sunset! It was seriously a breath taking view. The colors were so vibrant and warm. It was windy and pretty chilly, so we had to hurry! (Keep in mind-none of these photos have been edited!)

I am so thankful for my little family and the time we get to spend together! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world when I'm with these two goofs! And I LOVE living in Utah. So many beautiful things to see and experience!

Fall 2014 || Family Pictures

I absolutely LOVE getting family pictures done. There's so much excitement in choosing outfits & locations, and then the anxious feeling of hoping what you chose looked good and longing they'll turn out really good is something I enjoy going through! Even though we had just had pictures taken in June for Baby Will's 1st birthday( click HERE to see those), I wanted some new ones done for Christmas/Holiday cards. Will has changed SO much in just 5 months, PLUS you can never have too many family pictures right? We decided to have our upstairs neighbor, Stephanie Lance, be our photographer. I follow her blog & Facebook page and always always LOVE how her pictures turn out. I am so happy we went with her! She was so much fun to work with. and I was so impressed with all of her cute little props and ideas. She was so easy to schedule with and charges a very reasonable price! If you haven't seen our album over on Facebook, click HERE to see all of the pictures. Here are a few (okay, a lot!) of our favorites!

Thanks again to the amazing & talented Stephanie Lance for these BEAUTIFUL photos! We will truly treasure these FOREVER.

16 months || Plans Change

To start with:

 Our BABY is 16 months old today!! EEK! I seriously cannot believe it. Also, it's officially been a year since our babe has been home from the hospital! I was SUPER emotional on sunday because of it. Just because I felt overwhelmed with gratitude for his little life and gratitude for the trial we had to go thru to get his sweet spirit home with us. He's come so far since he came home! He came home on a monitor and oxygen, which was actually comforting because we had only known him with those things on! Today we have a BUSY happy healthy baby who keeps you on your toes!

- He's still  in size 2 diapers hah :) he has a skinny waist and thighs!
- He weighs almost 18 pounds
- He is still wearing size 6 month clothes, occasionally 9, and 9 month jammies
- He is crawling EVERYWHERE!! and all the time! I love watching him explore.
- He is pulling himself to standing too!
- He loves walking with your fingers
- We are working with an Occupational Therapist for his eating. Still has texture issues.
- Still drinks mostly bottles
- Lots of mama, dada, and babbling
- He loves playing with friends! Even if they can't play with him, he likes to get really close to them
- He still sleeps on his tummy with his bum in the air
- He's always standing up in his crib when i go get him in the mornings
- He has 4 teeth on the bottom, and 2 halfway in on the top
- He is always chewing on his fingers & thumb because of teething
-Puts his arms in the air when he wants to be picked up
- He loves being rocked
-We have our semi-annual follow up with Nephrology this month, so hopefully everything is good there!

Here are a bunch of pictures! Love this little boy!!!!

Next, Plans have changed!

If you've been keeping up with our story/life, you knew Matt had signed up for the Army National Guard and had gone to basic training. We planned on him being gone for 11 weeks of basic, and then 6 additional weeks for his specific job training. Well, after a week and a half of him being on the base, he found out he was going to be medically discharged. {{As this is a private matter, we will not be sharing any more details than shared here.}} Well, they lost his paperwork in the discharge process, so he was waiting around to be discharged for 7 weeks. He got home this past Saturday, 11/1. He is completely separated from the Army and National Guard now. SO what next you ask? Fortunately, the job at UVU that Matt had was never filled, so Matt started back at the same job yesterday! He will start school again in January and hopefully be able to graduate with his Bachelors of Accounting next summer.

While Matt was away, we both had a lot of time to think about what Heavenly Father wanted us to learn from this 'trial' in our lives. When Will was born 3.5 months early, we learned quickly that the Lord has a plan, and his timing for everything is PERFECT. It is rarely the timing we would like, but it is so perfect, and if we focus on what we think Heavenly Father wants us to learn, then we will have a more positive attitude and be able to take away more from experiences. So we did the same thing this time around. So we are moving forward with positive attitudes and looking for the next adventure the Lord has in store for us! Will and I are both extremely happy to have dada home!

So life as we know it is back to it's old self! Thanks for the love and support we've received recently! We are so very blessed with such loving family and friends.
